Glenwood Canyon Resort is truly a destination for group outings to the Rocky Mountains offering an abundance of Outdoor activities in the picturesque town of Glenwood Springs. Located in Glenwood Canyon 1 mile east of the World famous Hot Springs, Glenwood Canyon Resort provides a variety of accommodations with fully furnished Resort Cabins, Camper cabins , RV, camp sites and a group tent area.
Just to give you an idea of what other groups have done in the past here is their itinerary. Arrive on an evening and set up camp. Wake up to a beautiful morning in Glenwood Canyon. Raft through thrilling class III whitewater on our 9am trip. This whitewater raft trip will enable all ages and abilities to paddle through exciting class III rapids. Glenwood Canyon Is fast becoming the number one destination for family rafting trips with spectacular scenery and safe and exciting rapids. The river trip can be organised either as a half day or full day adventure (includes lunch). If you would like to see what it takes to be a guide for a day, Rock Gardens Rafting offers a hand’s on team building trip for all youth groups.
After being on the water for about 3 hours the group returns to camp for lunch. Then in the afternoon the group heads to the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. Your Adventure begins with a tram ride to the top of Iron Mountain at 7100 feet where your group will get a rare glimpse into a pristine underground world formed millions of years ago. On your cave journey, view amazing stalagmite and stalactites and unusual crystalline formations still alive and growing. After the cave tour is over stay up at Iron Mountain and experience the fun and exciting Cavern adventure rides. They have an alpine coaster, zip line and swing to experience. All these rides are based on a per ride fee.
The next day you can spend the morning hiking up to Hanging Lake. It is a 1.5 mile hike up to a beautiful lake. It is a MUST DO hike and is just a five-minute drive or a 5 mile bike ride to the trailhead from our Resort. Because the hike is 1000 vertical feet it does take about 2-3 hours round trip to hike. You can then spend the afternoon at the World’s Largest Hot Springs Pool resting those tried bodies. The Hot Springs Pool has two large pools with water temps above 95 degrees. The pool is open from 7a-10pm daily in the summer.
